Grocery shopping in Spain
In Spain, we usually walk to the closest super market to do our groceries, and we use these kind of hand carts that you leave close to the cashiers to take your groceries home...love it!
These are my fav. kind of doughnuts...note how the name of the product is "donuts", spelled exactly how you pronounce it in English...funny..
I love how in Spain you van find tons of very affordable and good olive oil everywhere....
I love how the milk that you buy it's not refrigerated, and we buy it in tetra bricks...
to buy meat, fish, and other kind of produce, you pick a number and wait until they call it...note: check those yummy jamones (pig legs) hanging in there...delicious!
chocolate aisle: my fav.....Nocilla is the best spreadable chocolate ever!!!
cola cao!!!!!!!!!!!....the best chocolate mix...
petit suisses...we used to eat them a lot when we were little!
chorizo, salchichon, lomo....yum...
all kind of cheeses....
empanada!....I love the tuna kind....
...and chuches, or candy...I love grocery shopping in Spain..

Visiting Teaching Project
I saw this in a blog and I thought it was cute, so I decided to try it for my girls!!!....First you bake some cookies....
...then you find boxes, or tubes (the ones I used were the Crystal Light ones), and you cover them with cute scrapbook paper...
then you put the cute cookies in, and ta-daaaaa!!!!....Love it!

Candy Buttons, cake and a boring Friday night...

While Mike is at work and I'm sooo bored at home on a Friday night, I baked a cake for my friend Rene, whose b-day is tomorrow....I decorated it with button candies that I made with a mold that I bought online here. They look cute and they are also yummy!...

Bulletin Board
My friend Marta asked me for instructions to do this bulletin board...here they are :
(Marta, perdona que esten en ingles...hace un tiempo una amiga me las pidio, y se las mande en ingles, pero si alguna o alguno quiere hacer este "corcho", y no las entiende o las quiere en español, decidmelo y las traduzco en un "plis-plas", ok???)
Paint your bulletin board (with normal paint) with a neutral color that matches the one* (spray paint) that you want to use for the lace pattern (*this is the color that it's going to all over your bulletin board. I did mine in black)
Let it dry, and then, buy some cheap lace curtains in Savers, or D.I. or some place similar, and staple it to your bulletin board, very close to the edges (you will remove the staples later, but the lace fabric has to be very tense).
Spray the bulletin with the spray paint, be very generous. The more you spray, the darker the color will be.
Let it dry for a day or two, and then remove the staples and the fabric, and...tada!!!!!!!!!!!...

House update: the Office
This is the room where I check out your blogs, where I work on mine, where I listen to sweet music and where I take care of the bills. I love having my own space.

House update: my new console table and more D.I finds
...my mom bought us this beautiful console table as a present for Christmas...I love it!. She also brought me from Spain a painting on canvas that I bought in Cuba years ago, and I left it on a place to frame, so when they're done with it, it will go right there on that wall with my favorite table everrr!!!
...and maybe these are too "old looking" for some of you, but my sister Amaya found them at D.I...there is something special about them...

..so yep...this is where you will be staying if you visit me...:)...Still need to find a bed head board, some pictures for the walls, more pillows etc...but I love that we have a hot pink guest bedroom!..and of course Mike is so excited too...;)
we bought these tables at D.I, painted them white and decorated them...I think that, for like 10 bucks, they look pretty cute....

My next project...
My sister Ama made these last year after reading about it in a magazine...I think they are so cute now that Christmas is almost here!...so I'm soooo going to try to make them!
Mi hermana Ama hizo estas bolas las Navidades pasadas, despues de verlas en una revista. Quedan preciosas como centro de mesa ahora que se acerca la Navidad. Este año me toca a mi hacer el intento!....espero que me queden igual de bonitas!
